SA Woman Magazine
A Simple and Clean Magazine Website
To quote SA Woman’s about page, “San Antonio Woman is the oldest continuously published magazine in the city.”
Since 2002, they have been celebrating the women of San Antonio. San Antonio Woman is more than a lifestyle magazine, covering diverse topics such as entrepreneurship, physical and mental health, and business. We wanted to showcase their wide variety of topics and city coverage while not overwhelming users with options.
Elevating The Brand
SA Woman Magazine already had a ton of articles and posts on their website. Content was not an issue. However, the organization of the site and lack of a brand identity was very apparent. The main goal was to work with SA Woman to recategorize their articles. While we worked to create a new menu and way of breaking down the site and magazine, our designer spent time to rebrand the color scheme. By assinging each category its own color and style, readers will always know where they are on the site. We decided to use multiple fonts to help with call to actions and header changes.
Existing Search Optimization
Like any magazine website, SA Woman was not lacking in content when they came to us needing a refresh. We were able to train their team on the better SEO practices while cleaning up the articles and categories as we moved them into the new website. By taking the time to add in missing meta-data, link together relative content to keep users reading, and also setup social media posting to help the SA Woman team automate part of their marketing.
Marketing and Outreach
With the new categories and page setup we were able to create spaces through out the site to allow other companies to advertise. This is a new revenue generator for SA Woman Magazine and can correlate with the print magazine as well. With marketing packages now an option for the company, the ability to scale is the future is a possibility.
Currently they are working on sponsored events through the website to promote the magazine and sponsorships. In the future they may be able to sell products too!
